Sometimes it’s great fun to break all the rules and do your own thing thanks to Theodora Sutton aka @custardonmynose for her interpretation of this project.

Create Your Own QR Code – Rainy City

Inspired by the some of the torrential rain we have experienced recently ///OIII/// has submitted this drawing for the Create Your Own QR Codes Gallery. I like the quick spontaneous nature of the drawing which reflects what is going on in the world around us. The drawing is very nature vs science in the way ///OIII/// is subverting the strict science of the binary code grid to create an artwork that makes you pause for thought.

More to come in this series.

Create Your Own QR Codes – Beetle In The Anthill

This drawing by Paddy has been inspired by the Russian sci-fi book “Beetle in the Ant Hill” by Arkadi Strugatski & Boris Strugatski, apparently the cyrillic character looks like a beetle yes I can see that now it’s been pointed out to me, and the cyrillic alphabet is crucial to the plot line of the novel. Well that’s what Paddy tells me anyway so we will have to believe him as I haven’t read the book it’s even too obscure for me!

Create Your Own QR Codes – A Big Glass Of Icecream

Russell, Aged 4 has submitted this wonderful artwork inspired by his deep love of icecream. He shows early promise with his artistic abilities I’m hoping to feature more of his work in the future if possible. I may need to bribe him with chocolate which shouldn’t be too hard because he has certainly made up for lost time since he discovered he liked chocolate this year!

Create Your Own QR Code – Square Face

I love this drawing by Aileen in response to my call for people to create their own QR Codes for an online gallery of drawings. Ideally I would like as many submissions as possible to create a ‘Vision On’ style gallery and hope to rig up some background music to go with the gallery. I don’t know what would be the equivalent to Morph though? I’m open to suggestions.

Create Your Own QR Codes

I thought we could have a bit of  fun here if I followed up my previous work with QR Codes by letting the public loose on the project.

OK here is what you can do:-

Option 1.

  1. Print out the template below
  2. Randomly fill in the squares with black ink
  3. Don’t fill in the border
  4. See the QR Code at the bottom of the post for an example of how it could look
  5. Scan in your qr code drawing with an app
  6. Contact me to let me know what happens?

Option 2.

  1. After creating your own QR Code with the template scan it in
  2. Save as a 72dpi  .jpg file, dimensions = 900 x 900 pixels
  3. Give your drawing a title or leave as untitled
  4. Email the jpg file to me so that I can create a gallery of your drawings
  5. Let me know if you wish to retain copyright
  6. Provide a link to your blog if you have one
  7. Feel free to send in your children’s drawings for the gallery
  8. Have fun!

In The Trees – Drawing 5

Try and imagine that you have your head right back and you are looking directly up through the branches of a very large Oak tree seeing glimpses of sunlight through the foliage. You are standing in the middle of the woods a good half hour into your walk through them, you may have just had a drink of tea out of your flask and are looking forward to tucking into a sandwich and possibly a Tunnock’s teacake on a Sunday afternoon. In other words it doesn’t get much better than this for a moment of quiet contemplation away from the everyday.

The Artist at Work

If you have recently received an art postcard courtesy of what is left of the postal service you might be interested to see the slideshow below of the artist hard at work slaving over a rubber stamp and an ink pad. It makes a change from getting covered in charcoal dust! If you would like to receive any goodies in the future I am happy to put you on my small but perfectly formed mailing list should I have another rush of blood to the head and decide to do some more mail outs. You can also contact me with any enquiries at vincentkemail-wordpress [at] yahoo.co.uk
