This drawing by Paddy has been inspired by the Russian sci-fi book “Beetle in the Ant Hill” by Arkadi Strugatski & Boris Strugatski, apparently the cyrillic character looks like a beetle yes I can see that now it’s been pointed out to me, and the cyrillic alphabet is crucial to the plot line of the novel. Well that’s what Paddy tells me anyway so we will have to believe him as I haven’t read the book it’s even too obscure for me!

Russell, Aged 4 has submitted this wonderful artwork inspired by his deep love of icecream. He shows early promise with his artistic abilities I’m hoping to feature more of his work in the future if possible. I may need to bribe him with chocolate which shouldn’t be too hard because he has certainly made up for lost time since he discovered he liked chocolate this year!

I love this drawing by Aileen in response to my call for people to create their own QR Codes for an online gallery of drawings. Ideally I would like as many submissions as possible to create a ‘Vision On’ style gallery and hope to rig up some background music to go with the gallery. I don’t know what would be the equivalent to Morph though? I’m open to suggestions.

I’ve been inspired by the wallpaper designs that I have recently produced using binary and morse codes and wanted to do some more designs in the same vein, after a suitable pause for thought I came up with idea of using the html code from different web pages to use as the wallpaper patterns. As with the other wallpaper designs on this website I have had to reproduce a detailed section of the design to give you an idea of what the print would look like. The detailed views are approximately 20% of the wallpaper roll width.

I can see these original designs working really well as a feature wall in the home in somewhere like the Dining Room or Breakfast Room, ideally I would like to do one of the walls in the Music Room with the “It’s Champagne Time” design because I think it works really well on the larger scale in that particular font. If you find these wallpaper designs interesting you should also look at the Binary wallpapers that I have also designed.
The scale of the wallpaper is difficult to reproduce on a computer screen so you should remember that the images below are detailed views of approximately 20% of the true size i.e., 52.07 cm wide.

These original designs for wallpapers are intended to be printed at the standard wallpaper width of 52.07 cm, and are not intended for use as computer screen wallpapers. After spending a lot of time messing around with various software packages to do this I settled for producing tiff and jpeg files using Adobe Photoshop as life is too short, and I’m too impatient to waste time on techy stuff.
Where the design is listed as detailed view this means that I have cropped down from the original tiff files to show a section approximately 25% of the overall design otherwise you would not be able to make out what the wallpaper print is meant to look like.

Inspired by the beauty of the QR codes I have been producing I thought it would be an interesting experiment to do a charcoal drawing of the ʇıqɹouıʇuǝɔuıʌ QR code and see if it would still work if you scanned it with your Iphone or Android. Thanks to Our Friends In The South testing out the free NEO software for Iphones I know this experiment has been a success. Just to add to the fun I have created another QR code for the drawing of the QR code, confused yet?
